Destination Wedding Guide: Las Vegas, baby!
By Misty Gray / January 3, 2023 / Las Vegas, NV, Traveling / 0 CommentsWelcome to our series on destination weddings. First stop: Las Vegas, baby!
Las Vegas is known for its thrilling nightlife, high-stakes casinos, beautiful landmark hotels, and exciting shows.
But it’s also known for being the marriage capital of the world.
Yes, Las Vegas has plenty of ‘gimmicky’ wedding opportunities.
For example—you can get married by Elvis, get hitched in a drive-through wedding chapel, or even get suited up for a horror-themed wedding (with the Grim Reaper himself making an appearance in your wedding photos).
But it’s also true that you can host almost any other type of wedding in Vegas as well.
In fact, there are venues and locations where you can hold traditional weddings, vintage weddings, contemporary weddings, modern weddings—and more.
So as a groom, it’s important for you to know the ‘lay of the land’ if your bride-to-be is looking at Las Vegas as a potential wedding destination.
Las Vegas: An Overview
The truth of the matter is that, as ‘gimmicky’ as some of the wedding services might be in the so-called Sin City, couples from all over the world travel there to get married in legitimate wedding venues—mostly because there are so many opportunities in Las Vegas to create unique and memorable wedding experiences.
There are expansive resorts, bustling nightlife scenes, and virtually endless entertainment options.
And for couples looking to get married in an exciting destination that offers a lot of amenities, Las Vegas is tough to beat.
You can find wedding venues ranging from elegant ballrooms to outdoor gardens, to rooftop terraces, and more.
It’s also an amazing place to source services like photography, limousines, and so on. (Thinking about wedding flowers? We can arrange anything you need right here in Springfield, at Linda’s Flowers!)
Being A Groom In Las Vegas
As a groom who’s preparing to travel to Las Vegas with his bride for a destination wedding, there are a few different things that you should know about.
First off, it’s literally a city that never sleeps—so make sure that you spearhead plans to take your bride (and your wedding entourage) out to see the sights and explore the city.
You could hit the casino, explore the city’s many attractions, attend some shows, and dine in a few of the many specialty restaurants available to you.
Also, make sure to pack appropriately. The weather will tend to be warm and pleasant (even in the winter). But always check the weather reports to make sure that you’re packing the right types of clothes for your journey.
Entertainment Options In Las Vegas (For You, Your Entourage, And Your Bride To Be)
As the groom-to-be, you’ll most likely be responsible for making the trip memorable from a planning perspective. So set some time aside to plan ahead and figure out what types of activities you, your entourage, and your bride-to-be may want to partake in.
Some ideas could include:
- Nightclubs
- Pool parties
- Sports events
- Shows
- Adventure activities (ATV tours, skydiving, zip-lining, etc.)
- Casinos, casinos, and even more casinos
For best results, try to choose activities that’ll be more likely to appeal to your guests. For example—if nobody in your party wants to actually go to a casino, then you may want to skip that option and choose something else.
Sending out a few messages and conducting a poll to see what people are interested in doing beforehand could be the key to planning activities that everyone will enjoy.
Las Vegas Travel Preparation Tips
